An activity for developing hand-eye coordination in the Nursery

Our nursery teacher Stella shows us how to train fine motor skills with young children in the nursery:

During this experience of distance learning I have proposed a variety of  activities to parents and their children. An important aspect that I always tried to include in my classroom activities was that of developing their eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. For this reason, even simple activities like the ones suggested below are of fundamental importance for such young children. I also thought of solutions which would allow parents to create games with different material available at home or recycled material.

Training their small hands to insert sticks into a slot, clothes pins into a hole or rings onto a vertical rod will help them develop their finger muscles, hand-eye coordination. Furthermore, using small objects will allow them to practise the thumb-index finger grip.
